DECISIONS YOU CAN TRUST.
Why I’m Running & What I Believe
I am running to continue serving as District Court Judge because strong courts depend on experience, sound judgment, and respect for the law.
The role of a judge is to uphold the law fairly and consistently. Decisions should be based on facts, evidence, and the law — not assumptions, emotion, or outside influence. Public safety and accountability rely on judges who are prepared, thoughtful, and steady in applying the law.
Being fair does not mean being lenient. Listening carefully to every case does not mean excusing behavior. Judicial restraint is not weakness — it is the discipline required to ensure the law is applied correctly and consistently in every case.
I believe judges must be present, prepared, and willing to make difficult decisions when the law requires it. The courtroom should reflect order, responsibility, and respect for due process, so that everyone who appears before the court receives a fair hearing and a lawful outcome.
I am running to ensure the people of Iredell and Alexander Counties can continue to have confidence in a judiciary that is fair, firm, and worthy of the public’s trust.
How I Approach the Bench
Rule of Law
I believe the law must be followed as written and applied consistently. Judges are not policymakers — the responsibility of the bench is to uphold the law fairly and without favoritism.
Accountability & Public Safety
Accountability matters. The justice system exists to protect the public and maintain order, and judges must be prepared to make firm decisions when the law requires it.
Judicial Restraint
Restraint is not weakness. It is the discipline required to ensure decisions are thoughtful, measured, and grounded in the law rather than personal views.
Fairness Without Leniency
I believe the law must be followed as written and applied consistently. Judges are not policymakers — the responsibility of the bench is to uphold the law fairly and without favoritism.
Respect for Due Process
Every person deserves a fair hearing. Listening carefully to each case ensures the law is applied correctly and that justice is administered responsibly.
Experience & Qualifications
I bring more than four decades of courtroom experience to the bench, with a career grounded in public service and the fair administration of justice.
I currently serve as a District Court Judge for Iredell and Alexander Counties and have previously served on the District Court bench, presiding over criminal, civil, juvenile, and family court matters.
Earlier in my career, I served as an Assistant District Attorney, representing the State in District Court and handling cases involving public safety and accountability. I have also spent many years in private legal practice and as a certified mediator, working through complex civil, family, and business matters.
This combination of judicial, prosecutorial, and legal experience allows me to approach each case prepared, disciplined, and focused on applying the law correctly.
I ask for your support and your vote to continue serving the people of Iredell and Alexander Counties as District Court Judge.
